Leslie Flowerday Plank started her career working in the automotive industry. As a quality engineer, she developed an attention to detail that has carried through her work today.
Leslie holds degrees in mechanical engineering and a masters of business administration. After graduating from college, Leslie took up figure skating as a way to get more excercise.
What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. As she began skating more and competing, Leslie discovered the need for figure skating apparel that could fit all skaters,
including most of her fellow members of the adult skating community. From this need, Flowerdaze Skatewear was founded in 2004.
She began by sewing skating apparel for herself and the skaters at her rink, and knowledge of her her talent quickly spread.
Today, Flowerdaze has grown to provide
custom skating dresses for skaters of all ages and sizes. Our clientele consists of National and International medalists, as well as numerous Adult National Champions
and title holders. Leslie prides herself on her ability to create beautiful skatewear of exceptional quality. Currently, she works in different fabric types including
regular and matte nylon/spandex, stretch velvet, and stretch mesh. Her dresses can be adorned with applique, airbrushing, and crystals.
Leslie continues to skate today. In 2006, she became the Bronze Ladies I Freestyle Adult National Champion, and has since medaled at the 2007 and 2008 Adult National Championships.
In 2009, she served on the Local Organizing Committee of the Adult National Championships held in Grand Rapids, Mi. She currently skates at the Adult Ladies Silver level, and is still
looking forward to landing the axel consistently!
